HOW DID THIS BOOK COME TO BE? A NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER.

You never know how you’re going to get a great book.

In this case, our alert publicity director, Irene Majuk, circulated a list of “most trusted leaders.” Our senior editor, Stephen S. Power, promptly began investigating whether any of them had a book in them. He found one — Joel Peterson, the chairman of JetBlue. Wow. And he had written an insanely popular article on LinkedIn. (Popular as in: more than 100,000 views.)

And it turns out Peterson had done a whole series of posts which presented clear evidence that companies who unflinchingly enable and trust their people earn back that trust big time.

Now downright excited, Stephen contacted Joel and proposed that his ideas be developed into a short, example-filled book on the subject. The result? The 10 Laws of Trust, a succinct and powerful look at how to create trust in today’s profits-first, loyalty-last environment. Sounds impossible? Joel Peterson proves it can be done.
